Airport Shakedown vs. Reality - Do the Math

There are about six million (6,000,000) illegal border crossers coming into the United States every year. On a non-leap year there are about 525,600 minutes in a year (365 * 24 * 60). This means for every single minute in the year about 11.4 illegal aliens have entered the United States.

So...while the extra 20 minutes of humiliating screening at the airport is taking place, about 228 illegals have entered the country.

Just for the sake of discussion, any of these could be an al-Qaeda operative, capable at least of taking a shit in the rinse water for, say, spinach. Doesn’t the spinach crisis strike you as being quite peculiar? How come an exact cause has not yet been identified? Why just spinach? The bigger question is this: if al-Qaeda was behind the spinach based e-coli epidemic, would Homeland Security actually admit this? I seem to recall one of the recent “Cry Wolf” warnings was that our food supply is in danger.

Well, maybe it is.

Anyway, Hound Dog finds it interesting that after the horrible magnificence and extreme complexity of the 9/11 hijackings, the best al-Qaeda can come up with since is Richard Reid, the shoe bomber, an idiot that had trouble lighting a match.

Is Hound Dog the only one that thinks the entire situation really smells bad? Has logic taken a holiday? Perhaps the airport screening has another purpose beyond the obvious? How come we cannot really believe anything we hear anymore?
